Reports from the Battlefield

My poor girl. You would think she just came back from the battlefront. Saturday, she stepped on a red ant hill. She has ant bites all over her leg. Now they are itchy.

Yesterday, we went tubing at Kelly Park. She must have stepped on a log or something. Her one foot was filled with splinters. Tony had to operate last night. All is well now.

And, lastly, my blonde moment. Saturday night we cooked shish ka bobs on the grill. Me and my smart thinking, picked up one of the metal skewers to put in on a plate. I think I have the Pampered Chef logo branded in my finger tips. Not too smart on my part.

Overall, it was a wonderful weekend. House is clean, dinner with Laura on Saturday, day at the tubing run with friends; it can't get much better.

More Random Thoughts . . . . .

Our Mama cat who loves to bring us little presents upped the ante this weekend. She brought us a rather fat rat and loudly meowed till we came and thank her for her gift. Isn't she sweet?

Rebecca, who will run up to any theme park character that we come across, is afraid of clowns. We discovered this at the circus.

Medicine in melt away strips are the bomb!!! Who ever thought of this, I hope they are rich!!!

American Idol is on tonight. I can't wait to see it.

Two conferences and a circus makes for one tired lady. I can't wait for the weekend.

Mammogram tommorrow. whoo hooo?

My 2% of the population that will still have an AF, sucks. It was progressively worse this month. I hope this isn't a trend.

The Orange County Convention Center is scary huge. I can't wait till the conference is over, so I can stop having to navigate this monstrous facility. I'm so terrified of being lost. I've gone there for the last two days and have managed to find my way out. But, interestingly enough, I've gotten to the interstate in two different locations. Scary.

I'm in search of tub toys. Rebecca's are yucky and are in need of replacing. She wants rubber duckies. You would think this would be an easy request to fill? WRONG - I can't find rubber duckies. Going to the Dollar Tree on the way home.

Quick Update

We are just too busy these days.

We spent most of the weekend at the circus selling popcorn. This is an annual fundraiser for the youth group that we work with. Selling popcorn is a lot of work. But, Rebecca loved the perks, like watching the circus 3 times, eating all the cotton candy and popcorn you can and riding ponies. It was a fun, but exhausting weekend.

This week, I'm at a conference all week. I do have to pop in and out of the office. I should be around tommorrow afternoon. I just hope I find my way to the conference. I'm horrible with directions. I'll let you know.

Happy Friday!!

Sorry I've been missing in action. I was out of town for a couple days. But, I'm back!!!

We have a very busy weekend. Saturday and Sunday will be spent selling popcorn at the circus. Its a big fundraiser for the youth organization that we work with. I already feel exhausted about it. I do get a reprieve on Sunday to go to the postponed egghunt for my Mommy's group. That should be fun.

Next week is busy too. I'm at a conference all week for the American Public Works Association. Its during the day, but I have to come in and out of the office during the week to keep things going. So, I may have a moment to pop in.

Keep in Your Prayers

Please keep in your prayers my friend, Brenda. She recently gave birth to a baby girl. The baby was diagnosed with Trisomy 18. The prognosis is not good.

I feel so bad for her. She's had a hard life. Things were really looking up for her with her new husband, getting custody of her teenage daughter back and a new baby to look forward too. I pray God gives her the strength to make it through this tragedy. I pray that her baby girl will live a comfortable life and soon be in God's care.

Rebecca's Imaginary Friend

Rebecca has an imaginary friend. Her name is HoPo. I've heard her talk about HoPo for a little while now. But, in the last few weeks, she's taken on a life of her own and has been proclaimed "my friend". Last night, she even talked to Tony. It was so cute seeing Rebecca talking in a deep voice, being HoPo. Good part is, HoPo likes to help me clean!!! YAY!!!

Other cute news: We had a big thunderstorm roll through last night. Lady, the black dog that Rebecca has proclaimed as hers, laid in front of Rebecca's door to protect her. That was a big comfort to Rebecca, who awoke scared of the thunder and lightening. She told me several times today how Lady protected her.

Taxes Filed!!!

We filed our taxes last night. I have no idea why we waited till 4/10 to finally do it. We are getting a sizeable return. But, its done now.

Now that question is: What to do with the money?

I'm voting a new fridge or new flooring for the pit. Tony just wants to squirrel it away. He likes having savings. But, I think we have enough nuts squirreled. Let's work on the house. We shall see.

What's New Pussycat???

Well, let's see . . . . .

I cut my hair off. Its right at my shoulders. I haven't done a picture yet, but soon.

I finally have hit the 20 Pounds lost landmark!!! Easter morning, just in time to eat the holiday feast.

Rebecca is off of her potty strike. Actually it was pooping on the potty strike. Yay, she's pooping in the potty again.

I'm going to apply for a passport. I forsee some out of the country traveling in the very near future.

I think Tony is finally coming around to making contact with his brother again. Or at least the thought is crossing his mind. We shall see.

Dance ends next month. I'm really looking hard for a new activity for the summer. I'd like gymnastics, but I'm having a hard time finding a reasonably priced class. Checking into swimming too.

Hippity Hoppity Easter's On Its Way!!!

Looking forward to Easter weekend. We are starting it off with a bang.

Tonight, we are coloring Easter eggs. It was a big hit last year. Rebecca was so excited last night to just boil them. So, eggs tonight.

Tommorrow is the egghunt at the Church. I can't wait to see her looking for eggs. Or going "egg picking" as she like to call it.

Sunday we're heading to church and then the family egghunt.

Its going to be a fun, fun weekend. I just wish it was a tad warmer. High is 68 for tommorrow. 72 for Sunday. Thank goodness I have a nice white sweater for Rebecca to wear over her Easter dress.

TTFN - Don't forget to put your baskets out!!!

Stop the Hate

Today is Stop Cyberbullying Day. Check it out.

Weekly Weigh In

I haven't done the weekly weigh in in a couple weeks, because the scales not budging. It weighs in 10ths of a pound and it hasn't waivered in either direction. It is stuck on one number. I keep eating right, so I know eventually its got to move. But, so far, no luck. At leasts its not going up.

The Picture I Forgot

Had to find this one in my files. I forgot I took it. From Saturday. Guess I am envious of Elisa's sunglass pics. So, I had an opportunity.

A Girl and Her Cat

Rebecca loves her cat. She loves her dogs, too. She's claimed Lady, the black dog, for her own. Smart girl, not picking that poodle.

Here's a couple of Rebecca and Chloe, the cat, in action. Couple of the lake too.

Close to Heaven

Today I was close to Heaven. Riding the jetski over glassy water with the scent of orange blossoms hanging in the air. I don't think I could get much closer at that moment an time.

We had such a wonderful day today.
