I'm A Slacker!!

Yes, I know it. I'm a slacker. I've resorted to just posting slideshows lately. I guess the things I have to say I don't necessarily want to share my thoughts with some parts of the world. I've decided to be a little more private these days. I feel stalked and attacked. So, I have decided to put up some walls.

I can't help how other people behave. I can only control my behavior and how I react to people. Too many more important things in my life than to allow outside influences to cause so much strife. So, I decided its time to draw my line in the sand.

I will continue to post my slideshows. Maybe once in a while, I'll come out for a visit. But, I think its better that I don't expound on any life experiences at the moment.

Just wishing for some peace in the world . . . . . . . . .

My Illness Lives On

Rebecca has a cold. She never gets sick. I think its been two years since she's even felt a little under the weather. But, I gave her a doozy of a cold. Its so nasty that I'm still recovering almost two weeks later.

Poor little thing, she sounds like Minnie Mouse. Very congested. She's not owning this cold though. She says its my cold. She is right. I did give her the cold. But, that's ok. She's going to give it to a stranger. Maybe then we will be rid of this horrid illness.

Updates, Bitching & Moaning

I've been quite under the weather. Horrible cold and I think its settled in my chest. I've never really felt like this before. I can barely cough, my chest is like dried out or something.

Mother's Day weekend was half nice. Saturday, I took Rebecca to the Plaster Cottage and she picked out things to make for her Grandmother's. I think we are going back to do a project for Father's Day.

That evening I took my Mother-in-law out to dinner with a group from work. Pat from work every year throws a Mother's Day dinner for all the woman in her life. It was such a good time. Even had presents for everyone. I've never seen my Mother-in-law eat so much. I think she really enjoyed herself also.

I was just starting to not feel well on Saturday. Sunday was spent laying on the couch watching movies. I had a full blown cold. Not really our plans. We were going to go jetskiing. But, I would have been miserable in the heat with my nose running like a faucet.

But, there is light. My nose has for the most part stopped. Its all settled in my chest now. No fever either today, so that's good.

Lots of plans to make for this weekend. Rebecca's party is on Sunday. Still haven't heard from the mailed invitations. What is it with people and RSVP'ing. Just a simple little phone call.

Oh, I did get some wonderful things for Mother's Day. Rebecca picked out a beautiful gold Mom charm. I love it. A giftcard to Bed, Bath and Beyond. Still debating what to get. And good old cash. It was a good day.

Did I mention? I got home yesterday, Tony & David has taken the jetski's out for the afternoon. Well, my sweet husband blew the engine in my ski!!! I couldn't believe it. Maybe its a good thing. The one he rebuilt works better than the one that we bought. So, it will get a new engine and rebuilt carb. Got to keep positive about these things.

Please pray for Anthony and his family. He lost his mother to a battle with cancer yesterday morning. I'm just glad it wasn't on Mother's Day. He still has a little brother that is underage that his sister has adopted. Anthony is quite a impressive young man. He's one of those people who have beat the odds of his upbringing and environment to be a real leader with his peers. His mother can look down on him and be proud for all he is.

Spring Cleaning!!

We've been working on cleaning out the Cat room. Did I mention David moved back home? He's now residing on my couch. I need him off of my couch. So, we are selling off some of the stuff that has been sitting around forever in that room.

I also cleaned my closet and organized my shoes. I have a lot less shoes now. Down to 37 pairs. Yep, that a small amount. I got rid of about 15-20 pairs and a few purses too.

The canoe is out on the free market too. We have two and only can use one at a time.

We rearranged the yard art in the backyard. Regained about 20 feet of yard just straightening it out.

Might have to go to the dump to get rid of the two old tires by the shed. And the bumper too.

Art in Process

This is the masterpiece I'm helping with for our Team entry into the City Art Contest. I belong to the Volunteer Committee for the City of Orlando and they have been working on this tile quilt for two years now. Not that its a time consuming project, we're just slow. Several members of the committee made the center tiles, stars and hearts. My contribution was the layout, cementing the tile and mosaic and tommorrow I'll help grout it. I'll post pictures of the complete project next week.
