Long Time No See

The holidays have a way of making time just warp away. You just get in that funk were nothing routine seems like something you want to being doing. Yesterday was the last holiday till May. Time to get back in the groove again.

Tony was away for the weekend. I hate being alone all weekend, so we filled it up with activities like movies and Monkey Joe's and visits to Grandma & Grandpa. Fun weekend after all, even though I spent most of Saturday night letting a sick dog out in the yard till 3:00 a.m.

Hit a great sale at Penney's. They have an extra 40% off of clearance. So, go buy yourself something.

Played Wii last night. I could easily get so addicted to it. Have to be careful with that one.

Rebecca is going to be 4 in May!!! Can you believe it? Doing some preliminary birthday planning.

I've been good with my resolutions. Well wait a minute. I haven't exercised, but I thought about it. I'm below pre-holiday weight. I've been watching my spending; somewhat. I haven't used the credit card. That's good right? Baby steps.

I finally made a decent potroast in my crockpot. All accidental. I put it on high yesterday before I left for Daytona and forgot to turn it back down. Dang, it turned out pretty near perfect. Now I know what I've been doing wrong all this time.

There, that pretty much brings it up to current day.

Weekend Recap

YAY - All the Christmas Crap is put away!!! Doesn't the house seem much brighter when there is not a big tree sitting in the middle of it. Although, I do miss the twinkling lights.

Old Navy Clearance Sale Rocks!!! I got a sweater, fleece pull over for Tony, 2 shirts for Rebecca, 2 pairs of socks, 7 pack of undies for under 20.00!!! I think I'm going back today. In fact, Tony said, "Why don't you go back on your lunch hour tommorrow." I think he was impressed with my purchases.

My new favorite blog - Confessions of a Pioneer Woman You will love it!! Read her autobiography on how she met her husband. And if you are in a cooking mood, check out The Pioneer Woman Cooks.

Janet Evanovich

If you have had the guilty pleasure of reading about the adventures of Stephanie Plum you will realize how exiciting it was to meet her creator, Janet Evanovich. She had a book signing at our local Barnes & Nobles. Her new book "Plum Lucky" came out this past Tuesday. I was there ready with the masses.

I arrived at 5:30 p.m. for the 6:00 p.m. signing. I was amazed to find the store mobbed. I purchase the new book and got in line for my wristband. I was #408. Can you believe it? She has a lot of fans.

It really was an interesting evening. People watching. The big celebration when she walked in the door. They had music and were doing trivia questions with give aways every hour.

But, as the night wore on and it was 8:00 p.m. and they were only at 250, I was getting tired. I struck up a conversation with this woman about 7:30. Very nice and friendly. Well, she was also chatting it up with the publicist that was working the crowd. He told her that if she got worn out he would get her to the front of the line for a signature. Well, about 8:00 p.m. we decided we had enough. So, she took him up on his offer. He escorted us to the front of the line. I felt so bad. But, hey, I was tired and it didn't look good timewise to get out of there.

So, I have my new book complete with an autograph. I learned alot about book signings. Next time I'll do it a little differently.

Things Accomplished

Well, I did find a pre-school for Rebecca. Its through my church. She has first preference and I just need to go in March and sign her up.

I pulled out my fabric and patterns. I'm making Rebecca a sun dress for Easter. I've had this Easter fabric for two years now. Geesh, its about time I do something with it.

Tony and I have designated Sunday as the day to clear out the Christmas crap. I can't believe we've left this stuff up for so long.

Tommorrow night I'm going to a book signing for Janet Evanovich. I've read most of her books. Just some good, fun reading.

I forgot my cell phone at home :(

List of things to do . . . . .

Geez, will that Christmas tree ever come down. I kind of like it. I have gotten tired of it. But, I know it needs to come down.

Miss Rebecca is getting so big. Immediate goals for the new year - 1. Have her going potty on her own. She likes her mama helping her and I forget to encourage her to go on her own. 2. Find a preschool for the fall.

Reservations to make for the year. We have two trips we want to do. Need to make some reservatons.

Home Improvement Projects - 1. Front porch - we need to replace the railing and paint/improve the concrete

2. Paint huge wall above staircase and add picture ledge.

3. Paint 3 bathrooms and update fixtures, much to Tony's disagreement

4. Paint the back of Rebecca's bedroom door. Its been needed to be done for almost 5 years.

5. Clean out the cat room. Seriously, it needs to be cleaned out and a garage sale to happen.

6. New floor in the cat room. It is gross.

That's a good start for now.

Back to Work!!!

I can't believe the holidays are over!! I'm back to work.

Happy New Year's!!!

My resolutions

Take off the last 20 lbs.

Get Spending under Control.

Keep the Peace.

It was a wonderful holiday. It went so fast. In a way I'm glad to be back. I think I would be very complacent if I were to stay home every day. I need some outside interaction.

Brrrr, its cold here today. Tonight there is a freeze with the possibility of snow flurries!!! I'll update you if it happens. Funny, last time we had flurries David was 3 years old. Rebecca is 3 years old. How ironic!!
